WE Generation’s mission is to grow the influence of next generation women innovators.

Founded in 2011, WE-Generation (WE-Gen) is a growing community of next generation women interested in entrepreneurship who actively work together to learn, support, and inspire.  Community members engage with each other and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem through a network of University established WE-Gen chapters.

In addition to traditional peer collaboration, the We Generation structure encourages “generational linking”, which combines the eagerness, passion and capability of the next generation of women entrepreneurs with the wealth of experience from professional women who are leaders in the innovation economy.

The WE Generation program is based on the shared mission and vision of the sixty-five participating organizations of the We Own It Summit/Collaboration originally convened by Astia and the Kauffman Foundation.

While WE-Gen chapters have a similar basic framework, they are heavily customized by the students to match the culture of their academic institution and reflect the evolving interests of their members.
