Venture Capital Non Profit Gustavo Alberelli
Gustavo brings a decade of experience working with high-growth technology companies in a variety of functions from financial advisor to employee to investor.  As a Director for Kennet, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of AcademixDirect and TradingPartners and as a Board Observer at Intelepeer.  Mr. Alberelli started his venture capital career at Trinity Ventures after being involved in business development for Saltare, an enterprise software company funded by DFJ and Sutter Hill.  He began his career in the technology investment banking division of Robertson Stephens.  Gustavo received a BA degree from Swarthmore College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He speaks Spanish fluently.

Edgar Arvizu
Edgar is a venture-finance professional with over 8 years of experience in venture banking, venture capital, and entrepreneurship.  He currently serves as an advisor to investment firms and start-ups.  He previously held investment and management positions with Revolution Money Inc., Visa Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank.  He received his MBA degree from Cornell University and his BS in Finance from San Diego State University.

Jorge M. Calderon
Jorge is the founder and architect of Springworks.  He previously managed and founded hillView Ventures and was also the founding Director of the West Coast office for a small seed stage investment firm.  He served as a board observer for Carsala, Hodo Soy, and Lefora, and led the investment in Rate-it-all.  Mr. Calderon has also had roles in management consulting, banking and technology.  Jorge continues to be involved in civic and social organizations that empower disadvantaged groups.  Mr. Calderon is a University of Michigan graduate and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Nate Gallon
Nate practices corporate and securities law in the firm's Palo Alto office where he focuses on representing technology companies throughout their growth cycle, from start-ups to large public companies.  Among other aspects of his practice, Nate represents clients in venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions and public and private offerings of securities matters.  Mr. Gallon represents both venture-backed companies and a number of venture funds in connection with venture equity investments,  Nate received his J.D. from Yale Law School, his B.A. from Yale University and is licensed in the State of California.

Jose Rivera 
Jose has worked 15 years in high tech in a multitude of positions and fields, ranging from individual contributor to COO, and 10 years in non-profit management ranging from Consultant to Executive Director and Board Member.  In addition, he has worked in Economic Development and Entrepreneurial Training.  Currently he is supporting venture capital and philanthropic work as the Executive VP of Kapor Enterprises, enjoying the passions of entrepreneurship while working for social change.

Yolanda Ruiz
Yolanda has more than ten years of experience in the finance and strategy consulting fields. She currently works for Pacific Community Ventures, a socially responsible private equity fund, where she is responsible for developing deal flow and for supporting the operations of several of their portfolio companies. Yolanda is on the advisory board of Vida Card and is a board observer in some of PCV portfolio companies. Yolanda received an MBA degree from Stanford Business School and a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from ITESM (Monterrey, Mexico).

Sarah Liebel
Sarah is currently a first year student at Kellogg School of management where she intends on graduating with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship.  Before Kellogg, Sarah worked as a finance associate for the financial technology start-up, Pipeline Financial Group. Prior to Pipeline, she worked in investor relations and corporate communications for Claire’s Stores, Inc. during the acquisition by Apollo Management group for approximately $3.1 billion.

Lylan Masterman
Lylan interned this past summer at Sierra Ventures.  He previously worked at Microsoft, at a startup called AskMe, and his most significant operational experience was at aQuantive (acquired by Microsoft for $6B), where he helped build and grow a new online advertising business unit. He will graduate with an MBA from Kellogg in June 2010 and has a Bachelor of Mathematics with a major in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.  Lylan is proudly 1/4 native and is French-Canadian.
