Bio: After working in investment management on a small team that managed over $1.5B in assets in Los Angeles, Austin left the company to try his hand at entrepreneurship. He founded a web/mobile design, development, and consulting company called Pi Digital Media. Over the two years he ran this company he had the opportunity to collaborate with entrepreneurs across the country to create and implement innovative ideas across various industries ranging from media & entertainment to fashion & retail and even non-profit. In the summer of 2011 Austin left his company to pursue his MBA at NYU Stern School of Business where he specializes in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. He plans to combine my passion for investing with his love for entrepreneurship by beginning a career as a venture capitalist.

Springworks Project (Working) Title: The Media Phoenix: A New Paradigm for Profitability
Springworks Project Description: This project will explore how the media and entertainment industry will leverage innovation to create a resurgence of profitability in an increasingly digital world. It will examine the current challenges the industry is facing, the implications of current technology trends on distribution and consumption, and then provide an in-depth look at startups that could drastically change the existing revenue models and usher in a new era of business in media and entertainment. This thesis is intended to include film, television, music, gaming, and publishing.
