Jorge Calderon, Founder & Executive Director

Jorge is an entrepreneur, advisor and investment management professional. Mr. Calderon founded and runs Springworks, an organization leading the expansion of a global renaissance by creating pathways for groups whose talents have been underutilized within innovation. Recently, Jorge started Promise Capital which will provide programmatic and financial support for university affiliated venture groups. Mr. Calderon has also established Impact Corps, a concept lab that develops and pilots new micro-programs that serve to improve the infrastructure of the growing but nascent impact investing and social enterprise community. Through his advisory firm, Hillview Ventures, Jorge continues providing senior leadership support for impact investing organizations. Previous clients include New Island Capital Management, Toniic Impact Investing Angel Network, Imprint Capital and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Mr. Calderon was the founding Director for the west coast office of a small seed stage venture capital firm and has had roles in management consulting, banking and technology. Jorge is deeply engaged in a variety of other civic and social organizations that champion youth development, education and entrepreneurship. Mr. Calderon is a University of Michigan graduate and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Lucia Casaravilla, Change Challenge Program Manager

Lucia is a Senior Communications Professional with extensive experience leading educational, philanthropic and community outreach programs at the International Monetary Fund. As Director of Civic and Community Relations, she initiated fundraising and humanitarian campaigns, helped found the Fund’s volunteer program and led the grant-making and charitable initiatives of the IMF Civic Program.

Ms. Casaravilla joined Springworks in 2011 as Program Manager for the Change Challenge Program. She holds a B.S. in Mass Communications from Towson University and pursued graduate studies in International Communication at American University, where she focused her research on international volunteerism. She is currently serving as Secretary of the Board at Rebuilding Together San Francisco.
